I didn't realize how popular my blog was... until people started asking me to hurry up and update already. ;) It's funny how no longer being an unemployed bum keeps me busy. So since I have a huge project due for my grad class and am going to NYC for the weekend... I'm going to procrastinate and write a blog entry. :-D
So my new favorite exercise activity is kayaking. :) Since we have had a warm fall, Dave and I have been able to get out on the water a lot more than we thought. With several local lakes around the greater triangle, we have had a blast taking the boats out and putting around the lake.
The upper body workout is amazing. My sides and even abs are sore after spending a few hours on the water. We make it fun by attempting to race each other and sneak up on unsuspecting ducks.
****Side tangent*** Kerr Lake has a devil bird duck that instead of flying away ducks under the water and disappears. Seriously, this damn bird dives under the water and doesn't return to the surface. I stopped and stared at the spot for several minutes and waited for the bird to return. Did it's evil little head return to the surface???? NO! I'm not sure how it did it, but the devil bird duck popped up on the other side of the lake in no time flat. ****Side tangent over****
With the changing of the leaves and the beautiful weather, kayaking has become not only a great outdoor workout but a great date as well. :)
